Elite Certification has a strong commitment to the efficient performance of the certification process. The certification process is managed by our building surveying team who work in partnership with your project managers and other consultants to ensure that Construction Certificates and Occupation Certificates may be issued within the program requirements of the project, whilst at all times maintaining our principal responsibility of acting in the public interest.
Each member of our certification team undergoes a rigorous program of Continuing Professional Development to maintain their accreditation and the currency of our combined knowledge in all aspects of the property industry. With vast experience in the most complex applications of the Building Code of Australia and an unsurpassed ability for lateral thinking, the staff at Elite Certification are well placed to deliver positive outcomes for technical challenges.
Principal Certification Services
Prior to commencing construction work, you must appoint a Principal Certifier (PC). The Principal Certifier (PC) is a building surveyor who undertakes the various mandatory inspections and documents details of these inspections in order to issue you with an Occupation Certificate (OC).
Elite Certification provides Principal Certification services which include inspecting building work during construction and where satisfied that the construction meets the required standards, including the conditions of consent, will, upon completion of the construction issue an Occupation Certificate.
Construction Certificates
A Construction Certificate is required before any building works begin and verifies that the proposed development complies with the Building Code of Australia and all applicable legislation. Elite Certification will provide a comprehensive review of your building plans to assess compliance with the Building Code of Australia and the conditions of consent.
Following a successful review, Elite Certification will issue your Construction Certificate. Our company structure ensures that our key staff members are present throughout every stage of your project, from design review through to inspections and approvals.
Complying Development Certificates
This certificate is an alternative to obtaining a development consent (issued by Council or in some cases by the State Government). It is only available for routine developments that are stated in the State complying development plan (State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP) or development control plan). The certificate confirms that a proposed development is a complying development and that the development complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other relevant standards. The certificate must be obtained before building work commences, including site works such as demolition or excavation.
As your trusted certifier, Elite Certification will provide a comprehensive review of your building plans to assess compliance with the BCA and the applicable complying development plan. Following the submission of all relevant documentation and a successful review, Elite Certification will issue your Complying Development Certificate.
Occupation Certificates
An Occupation Certificate verifies that the Principal Certifier is satisfied that the building is suitable to occupy and satisfies the relevant requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
As your PC, Elite Certification will identify the matters that need to be addressed, in order to issue the Occupation Certificate prior to the commencement of the project. Guided by our expert team, you will have a clear understanding of what is required throughout the construction stage through to the project commencement.
